Seated yoga

Chair yoga is specifically designed for people with physical limitations.

Whether you're in a period of increased sedentariness, or rehabilitating following the consequences of an accident, chair yoga takes into account the fragility and capacity of each individual.

It's a gentle approach to getting back into shape, with each person progressing at their own pace and in complete safety.

Regular practice will develop awareness of the body and its natural alignment so that posture can be balanced and injuries reduced.

Muscles will regain their tone and joints will become more supple.

The exercises help to:

- relieve chronic pain caused by stress or prolonged immobility

-Work the upper body to stimulate the nervous system, heart and breathing

-Strengthen the body's muscles and organs

-Boost energy

-Release tension

-Maintain flexibility by working on range of movement and tone to relieve chronic pain

- Minimise the decline in sensory functions, thereby reducing the risk of falls.

The work carried out on the respiratory, lymphatic and endocrine systems, stimulated by the movements (asanas) and breathing (pranayama) proposed, strengthens the immune and nervous systems.

The heart, thymus and thyroid gland are gently stimulated, particularly by working on the upper body.

This gentle practice supports the body by producing, balancing and circulating chemical substances, in particular the hormones secreted (serotonin, endorphin, oxytocin, etc.), which reduce anxiety and provide a feeling of well-being, joy and vitality.

By synchronising postures and breathing, yoga coordinates the two hemispheres of the brain and strengthens visual and spatial memory.

Meditation exercises slow the loss of cerebral capacity and improve executive functions and the speed with which information is processed.

Yoga helps you to move out of your comfort zone with awareness and to see every situation as a source of learning.
